2023 Generative AI & American Society Survey results
For the past three months, I’ve been collaborating on a project with the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago, conducting a nationally representative survey to explore Americans’ attitudes towards Generative AI. Known for producing some of the most scientifically rigorous surveys in the United States, NORC was my chosen partner for this survey, which I both wrote and funded. This survey sheds light on Americans’ utilization of new Generative AI tools, their sentiments of concern or excitement, the job areas they believe will be impacted, and their viewpoints on 13 policy areas encompassing potential interventions from both government and AI companies.
